I am a graduate of the University of Wisconsin-Madison where I volunteered with the Adapted Fitness Program for three semesters. It was there that I learned how to construct, implement, and modify exercise programs for individuals with diverse abilities.
Along with my mother’s diagnosis of MS, my time with individuals in the Adapted Fitness Program opened my eyes to the current lack of fitness opportunities available to individuals with physical complications resulting from SCI, TBI, stroke, and neurodegenerative conditions. As a result, I have made it my career goal to provide such exercise opportunities to individuals of all abilities so that they too can attain the multitude of benefits that come with being physically active.
Aside from my passion to serve individuals with diverse abilities, I have a love for and experience with athletics. I worked closely with the University of Wisconsin Football team as an equipment manager throughout my time at UW, assisting with practices and many behind the scenes necessities. Beyond that, I participated in football, hockey, and track throughout high school. Not surprisingly, I have recently taken interest in the realm of Adaptive Sports and am involved with Dairyland Sports (Madison, WI) and the Great Lake Adaptive Sports Association (Lake Forest, IL).
