Hybrid Athletic Club combines studio style training and a membership atmosphere.  We provide cutting edge training programs at an affordable price and in an inviting atmosphere.  We create our own expertly designed programs from our one-on-one personal training programs, to our unique group fitness classes, and one of a kind Hybrid Health Plan.  Hybrid’s goal is to make sure you are working hard and playing hard.

At Hybrid, we are not just another gym, and you’re not just another number.  Our personalized approach and talented staff ensure each member reaches their healthy lifestyle goals.

Owners Kjersten Bakke and Stephanie Johnson-Bakke provide a comprehensive approach to health, with both fitness and nutrition expertise.  Our team of registered dietitians and certified personal trainers provide the guidance you need to reach your athletic performance and weight loss goals.

KJERSTEN BAKKE, J.D., CPT, CSCS

Kjersten Bakke is a two-time graduate of the University of Wisconsin-Madison.  She received her undergraduate degree in Neuroscience, and later her law degree.  

Kjersten was a two sport varsity athlete at Wisconsin, competing in both basketball and track.  She served as a basketball team captain her senior year and holds several women’s basketball weightlifting records.  Her experience as an athlete in the Big-Ten conference is the foundation of her training techniques.

Kjersten is also a drug-free professional bodybuilder who actively competes and coaches athletes.  As a coach, Kjersten must have an in-depth knowledge of a variety of training and dieting methods.  She uses these scientifically sound and proven training and dieting methods with her personal training clients.  Her goal is to help Hybrid members create a healthy lifestyle that doesn’t involve unsustainable diet practices.

STEPHANIE JOHNSON-BAKKE, RN, CPT

Stephanie Johnson-Bakke is a graduate of the University of Alaska-Anchorage where she earned her undergraduate degree in nursing.  

Stephanie was a four sport varsity athlete in high school and went on to play basketball at UAA where she served as co-captain her senior year. She remained in Alaska for nearly eight years where she stayed close with the university and local high school basketball teams and also was a practicing nurse. Upon returning to Wisconsin, she began her career at Epic where she spent almost 13 years doing project management, clinical informatics, and sales demonstrations around the world.

Throughout her professional career, Stephanie remained passionate about sports and fitness and is thrilled to have an opportunity to now share and teach at Hybrid along with her wife, Kjersten. As a trainer, Stephanie is focused on strength training and athletic performance founded in her experience in college as well as in her professional career. She understands the busy lives of professionals and can help clients maintain fitness goals whether they are on the road or at home. Additionally, she and her wife are parents of twins, knowing first-hand how to also balance fitness during the perinatal stages and while raising a family.
