Gives You Confidence

As with any form of exercise, increased strength and performance increases confidence. This is even more true for kickboxing, since learning a form of self defense proves that you can hold your own, giving you a well-deserved confidence boost. Additionally, a rigorous kickboxing session releases endorphins, natural mood boosters that will also improve your self-esteem.

Blasts Fat, Fast

It’s an incredibly efficient workout. Kickboxing alone can burn about 750 calories in an hour.  When you then add in jump rope and conditioning drills, and you could burn anywhere from 750 to 900 calories in an hour.

While you burn calories, you’ll also be speeding up your metabolism and toning your entire body. The benefit of kickboxing is that it is a high-intensity, full-body cardio workout, which is perfect if your aim is to lose weight and get fit.

Tones Your Entire Body

A typical class combines classic kickboxing movements with drills, circuit training and core exercises for a total-body workout that will leave you feeling like you worked every single part of your body.

There’s a large toning component to kickboxing because it forces you to engage all the muscle groups in your body. Front, side and roundhouse kicks work your legs and glutes, while punching and jabbing tones the upper arms, shoulders and chest. Additionally, our kickboxing programs are designed to improve flexibility and muscular endurance.

Improves Your Coordination

People who suffer from poor hand and eye-coordination and general movement stability should certainly practice kickboxing. The quick kicks and punches in a typical class make you attend to where your limbs are in relation to each other and develops the nervous system in ways other exercise programs fall a little short.

Boosts Energy Levels

Performing a high-intensity boxing routine might seem like something that would exhaust you out.  However, people often find that the opposite is true. Kickboxing often gives people an energy boost due to the empowering nature of the workout.

Helps You Stand Tall

Most of us sit hunched over our computers or desks for hours every single day, and naturally, our posture suffers. Kickboxing challenges a variety of muscle groups that are not utilized in every day activities, and therefore often improve posture. Your posture and balance will automatically improve, as you develop your core, lower back and abdominal muscles.

Hybrid’s kickboxing class is a great way to release frustrations with a high-energy routine – let’s face it – sometimes hitting things just feels darn good!

A Typical Class

A typical class starts with gradually increasing speed or resistance to warm up your body. During class, body positions may vary with the “drill” or activity performed, such as seated with hands resting comfortably on the handlebars, and standing while pedaling with hands lightly on the handlebars. Resistance and speed will vary as we work on endurance, strength, and speed in both aerobic and anaerobic drills: climbs, sprints, rolling hills, power intervals, and more! Class ends with a cool down and stretching.

Tips & Preparation

  • New to class? Arrive at least 5 minutes early so our instructor can help set up your bike for a proper fit.
  • Please let the instructor know if you are recovering from an injury so she or he can offer modifications
  • No bike riding experience needed
  • You control the intensity

Equipment, Attire, & What to Bring

  • Come to class dressed and ready to move your body
  • Water, towel
  • Comfortable, proper-fitting gym shoes or bike shoes with SPD cleats
  • Wear functional workout clothing made of breathable material
